Plan Data Required by March 28 to Meet Federal Mandates

Federal mandates require the submission of data related to prescription drugs and healthcare spending of employer-sponsored health benefit plans in 2023. Star Marketing and Administration, Inc., will submit this data on behalf of employers who sponsor plans administered by us, but we require employers’ input by March 28, 2024, to complete the submission accurately.

Later today, this email will be sent to:

  • Brokers, encouraging them to urge their clients to respond to questions by the deadline of March 28
  • Employers whose plans we administered between Jan. 1, 2023, and Dec. 31, 2023, seeking information needed to submit the data accurately

The Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021, requires the submission of certain data by June 1, 2024, for the Prescription Drug Data Collection (RxDC) report. We will submit data annually for each group. The data will show spending on prescription drugs and healthcare services, prescription drugs that account for the most spending, drugs that are prescribed most frequently, prescription drug rebates from drug manufacturers, the required contribution for each employer-sponsored plan in 2023 for covered employees, as well as cost-sharing for covered employees.
